What do the resolution settings mean?

Postby droid scan dev » Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:27 am

Q:

How should I choose among the available resolution settings?

A:

Use the following guidelines about scan resolution:

1 - Low res scans are for quickly preserving a bit of information, like a note you might jot down. They are human readable but not machine readable, and they can be emailed quickly.

2 - Medium res scans are for small documents (like business cards). They have enough resolution to do very good quality OCR (optical character recognition).

3 - High or Ultra res scans are for full page documents that will be used for OCR or reprinting.
